Do you have logs sitting on your property and wish they could be turned into usable lumber? We make that possible. Our mobile milling service comes directly to you with a mill mounted on a trailer. We cut your logs to the exact dimensions you want — beams, slabs, or boards — and stack the lumber so it cures properly and stays true.

Serving Nevada County and the surrounding area, we specialize in turning your trees into valuable, usable wood right on your property.

Milling Process

Site Visit — $40
We start with an on-site assessment to ensure our trailer and equipment can access your property. During this visit, we also evaluate your logs and discuss any site preparation needed before milling begins.

Set-Up & Milling
Once everything is ready, we bring the mill to you and cut your logs into the custom dimensions you need. Whether you’re looking for beams, slabs, or boards, we’ll cut to your specifications. On average, we process 7–10 log lengths per day.

Stacking
Proper stacking is key to quality lumber. We carefully build your wood pile so it cures correctly, ensuring the boards dry straight and evenly for long-lasting use.

Wrap-Up
When the milling and stacking is complete, our work is done. We do not provide clean-up services for sawdust, bark, or mill ends.

Rates

  • $175/hr (includes mill, operator, stacking assistant, fuel, and blades)

  • Blade Charge: Please ensure your logs are free of nails, screws, fencing, or other embedded metal. If hidden metal is encountered and it damages the blade, there is a $45 replacement fee per blade.

  • Travel Fee: Jobs over 30 minutes outside Nevada City billed at hourly rate (round trip)

  • Minimum: 4-hour booking
